MEDICAL STUDY: Metro DC Gulf War Veterans Needed

Metro Washington, DC healthy and ill Veterans of the 1991 Gulf War are
needed for a new medical study at Georgetown University comparing genetic
and other differences between those suffering from Gulf War illness and
their healthy Gulf War veteran counterparts.
The study, being led by Dr. James Baraniuk, M.D., will compare ill Gulf War
veterans genetic material to that of their healthy counterparts. Among the
study's goals is to develop a better understanding of how Gulf War illness
affects the human body -- particulary the central nervous system.
Specifically, the study will investigate variations in the CNDP1 (Carnosine
dipeptidase 1) gene that encodes a particular protein in the brain believed
to be relevant to the progression of Gulf War illness.
In an October 2008 presentation about his research, Dr. Baraniuk:
"Analysis of the fluid flowing from the brain will identify factors that may
indicate the pathology of CFS to direct the creation of new treatments, and
serve as diagnostic biomarkers for future testing."

Dr. Baraniuk has also conducted research on Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/myalgic
encephalomyelitis (CFS/ME), and hypothesizes that Gulf War veterans with
greater fatigue and other symptoms will have more of certain biological
markers in their genetic material.
The study will involve collecting genetic samples of volunteers
participants, including a mouth (cheek) swab, urine and blood samples, and a
professionally conducted spinal tap to collect a small sample of critically
important cerebro-spinal (CSF) fluid.
Volunteers will need to remain at the study site for a few hours, and will
be compensated for their participation. Most importantly, this study will
help advance the understanding of the underlying mechanisms of Gulf War
illness, which affects between 175,000 and 210,000 of the 696,842 veterans
of the 1991 Gulf War.
The study was funded through a peer- and Gulf War veteran-recommended grant
from Congressional appropriations to the U.S. Department of Defense's
Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program.

is VERY (too) Wide in firefox, and normal in IE7
can hardly read MBN in the read on top, very dark
titles are not taking captials, previewed or published, looks ok thou
WYSIWYG editor working now in IE7 and firefox
LINK fonts are right size in IE7, not in firefox they vary
font size in comments varies after published should be 12 pt, isn't in IE7
if more will add here as come along with this theme or FIREFOX/IE

so, as u say "i dunno". with this theme it's an on/off thing so far. Getting used to navigating around on this one, I found the last one easier, this one looks good thou.

RSS feed not working HERE, but everywhere else
I posted last night on my blog, the 5 vid's and info, and put in the last 4 vid's hyper linked - it came throu on face, the ning sites, etc..
I post political issues right on MBN, as I need my blog and website soley for my situation, etc. and let my blog stuff come throu the feed.
Is there something I need to check, I don't think so as the feeds are working on other sites. Is posting directly from here as well as my blog causing feed issues?

I'll check the "permissions" and figure it out.
I don't know enough about that function yet. It looked really complicated to do, but I think it would be a useful tool.
You get points for posting a blog or voting on a blog or posting a forum topic.. commenting.. any type of interaction on the site.
What do they mean? I dunno yet. It's just a way of rewarding people for participating.
In the future we could use points for some kind of tangle reward (DVDs, shirts, stickers... idunno)

I just tested the feature, actually it is even more confusing. The donation link for a user only shows up below the user's comments. Below posts you will always see the site wide donation link.
I'll change it so user donation links are shown below their posts, if the "user beer" setting is enabled, which seems the most straightforward and easiest to grasp.

Okay. I've discovered issues with the Beer Donations/TIP JAR function. It seems to Ignore the Authenticated Users Beer email and use the site wide Flux paypal instead I"M F"N SORRY. I've put in a support request to the maker of the Beer Donation Module and hopefully We can get it to work right. It's a little embarrassing.
Also, I Think these So called Forums and the Comments are extremely difficult to navigate and look like shit. anybody with me on that? There should be better options, I'll look into it.

If it's a pic From Flickr, ImageShack, Photobucket or Picasa you can use the Embed Your Media section of the Blog Post form.
The new site template makes it alot easier to see what you're doing... so maybe the add an image link will work for ya now.
