The disaster is ongoing; the experience is relevant to all those in the cross hairs of man made extraction based environmental disasters.

With some of the only video from behind police lines, subMedia.tv witnessed the brutal raid by the Royal Colonial Mounted Police on the Mi’kmaq blockade of fracking equipment. But the fierce response of the community in defense of the warriors was also captured on camera. We bring you the real story about what really went down on Highway 134, the story that the corporate media doesn’t want you to see.
The “Line 9″ and “Energy East” pipelines threaten to bring tar sands “crude” from Alberta for export through ports in the Atlantic. These pipelines will traverse through many Indigenous communities and natural areas, threatening not only the health of the land but the sovereignty of these territories and their peoples. We have teamed up with Indigenous organizer Amanda Lickers to produce a Kahsatstenhsera: Indigenous Resistance to Tar Sands Pipelines. This video will focuses on Indigenous resistance and seeks to build capacity in Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities by providing an educational and accessible resource to build awareness across communities. Featuring stories and perspectives from land defenders in Athabasca Chipewyan, Aamjiwnaang, Six Nations of the Grand River, Kanehsatà:ke, and Elsipogtog First Nations, this video will not only educates the public on the issues being faced by pipeline construction and expansion, but showcases Indigenous resistance and provide an anti-colonial lens for understanding environmental destruction.

On April 19th, 2013, I interviewed Kathy Kelly—a co-coordinator of Voices for Creative Nonviolence, which is a campaign to end United States military and economic warfare. The website is VCNC dot org. Kathy has lived in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Yemen and one of the roles she will play at the convergence is to relay those experiences and give a human voice to the lived reality of people over seas who deal with drone surveillance and are murdered by drone attacks on a daily basis. Kathy, and many others, will be attending “Resisting Drones, Global War and Empire" convergence, April 26 - 28 in Syracuse, NY. (See the FaceBook event: https://www.facebook.com/events/540569232649914/?ref=22.)
On April 19, 2013, Rochester Indymedia interviewed Col. (ret.) Ann Wright, a former US Army colonel and diplomat who resigned over the invasion of Iraq. She has since become an advocate for peace and an anti-war speaker and organizer. She will be going to Syracuse, NY on April 26-28th for the “Resisting Drones, Global War and Empire" convergence. (See the FaceBook event: https://www.facebook.com/events/540569232649914/?ref=22.)
In this interview, Ann talks about her decision to leave the government, blowback from families of people murdered by drones, the abolition of the war machine, and drone programs in other countries, among other topics. Her prefered sites of information on drones are Know Drones dot com, a Code Pink effort called Drones Watch dot org, and of course, Upstate Drone Action dot org.
It is problematic when the US leads the way in illegal use of weapon systems (drones). You can be assured that other countries will follow suit very quickly.

One of the objectives of the false flag Boston Marathon bombing terror attack, was to create fear, confusion, anger, and hatred, in the subconscious minds of the masses, the millions of people who absorb and accept the "New Normal", whenever the people in power implement a tactic or agenda (Problem).
After the media saturates the minds of the masses, the government has a greater role in their lives to rule over them and control them.
The media conditioned the masses to cheer the police and soldiers after the suspect was caught, and the whole city of Boston came out of their houses, cheering the soldiers and police, waving their flags, and singing the national anthem (Reaction).

New York, October 18, 2012---A second excerpt from the Q & A after the benefit screening of Gasland at the IFC Center on Sixth Avenue and West 3rd, where Josh Fox's Oscar-nominated film was released theatrically in 2010. Yuka Honda and Sean Lennon of Artists Against Fracking speak out against hydraulic fracturing.
|Gasland Benefit: Sean Lennon, Yuka Honda, Josh FoxNew York, October 18, 2012 -- As the hydrofracking issue becomes increasingly contentious, with deadlines approaching on every front, opponents are mounting efforts to alert residents both Upstate and in New York City to the hotly debated drilling technique's dangers. Residents of the Southern Tier, which sits on top of the Marcellus Shale, are concerned about known carcinogens in the water used in the drilling process, waste water and air pollution from methane gas, as well as the loss of their homes' real estate value once the land has been contaminated. Clean-water advocates in New York City share their concern about pollution of the aquifer which, they fear, could affect the city's watershed due to seepage of chemicals used in fracking. Also, local environmentalists and residents are worried about potentially dangerous levels of radon in Marcellus Shale natural gas. And there is also fear over the risk of pipeline explosions in a dense urban area, such as the West Village, where the Gansevoort Peninsula is the endpoint for a 16-mile, 30-inch, high-pressure pipeline that Spectra is constructing from New Jersey under the Hudson River. On Oct. 18 there was a special screening of the Academy Award-nominated film "Gasland" at the IFC Center on Sixth Ave. at W. Third St.|
The Fiscal Cliff and Our Reality.
A presentation followed by general discussion.
First Unitarian Universalist Church. 5212 S. Claiborne Avenue. New Orleans.
Since Election 2012 the “fiscal cliff” has emerged as the dominant issue of public discourse in this country. The President and the Congress agree that something must be done to prevent the U.S. from going over the fiscal cliff. The talking heads of the corporate media maintain that the only way the U.S. Government can avoid going over the fiscal cliff is through “shared sacrifices” by rich and poor alike in the name of getting America’s fiscal house in order.
The fiscal cliff debate raises questions of profound importance to the 99 percent. What is the fiscal cliff? How does downsizing “entitlements” in the pursuit of lower public debt really affect the 99 percent? Is what’s presented as “shared sacrifice” really shared in any meaningful sense of the word?
Watch and contribute to public discussion of the fiscal cliff issue from a 99 percent perspective

This short film chronicles the events of the past week in Spain where hundreds of thousands of people have taken to the streets to demand the resignation of the government and an end to police brutality. Many of the protests ended in clashes with the police. Since the stand off began on September 25th , the images of police brutality have travelled the world over, shocking and inspiring people across Europe and leading to an international day of action on September 29th. This film tells the story of why so many people took to the streets and follows these events as they unfolded.
One year ago a small group of predominantly Anarchists sparked a horizontally organized movement to level the playing field in the game of Corporations -vs- The People of the United States. Today we celebrated our success and contemplated our future. We licked old wounds and created new ones. We turned a critical eye to the process that has guided us and acknowledged it's short comings so that our second year of existence will be one of effectiveness even if it means dropping the verb. To Occupy.
On Tuesday, September 11, the Berkeley City Council voted against holding a public hearing before handing over Iceland, the city's beloved ice rink, to the owners of Sports Basement to open the newest location for their sporting goods chain. Jacquelyn McCormick and dozens of other supporters of Iceland spoke against turning over the historical landmark to become a big box retail outlet, but their efforts to sway the council were unsuccessful. The Council voted eight to zero to move forward and to deny the public a hearing. Council member Darryl Moore abstained from the vote after calling on his council members to hold a public hearing. Council member Linda Maio was absent.

Not since the days of Gasparilla and Black Caesar has old Missy Tampa Bay had her bloomers in such a bunch Alarmingly, bunched up bloomers can only exacerbate an already sticky situation down there.
On behalf of my constituencies. I would like to turn uip the Southern charm and address this open letter to you, the charming Tampa Police Department.
Also I should like to say hello to the supporting departments, and agencies from across the country, who will be working with us , together, during this hot and sweaty National Security Rodeo.
I am here today, to address an issue that is critical to the health and safety of all, during the warm, damp days of the southern fried RNC .There is an underreported, often ignored, and rarely discussed health condition that could easily devolve into a rash of serious injuries... or worse. Sadly, it may be the very people who are tasked with providing safety and order, that will be most susceptible to this scourge. Ironically , it could be the very same people that they are being tasked to serve and protect that may be it's ultimate victims.
The place where any two parts of the human body rub up against each other can cause painful irritation. The same is true of the body politic.
Skin is the human body's largest organ, just as the thin blue line is fast becoming the largest organ in the body of society. One place in the body politic where constant friction can occur is where the street meets the feet. This is where first amendment practitioners , experiencing societal discomfort, attempt to petition their rulers for a redress of grievance. This is where they will rub up against the epidermal layer of the security state.. Freedom of movement, assembly and speech can help alleviate some of the powerful irritation caused when the citizenry rub against their rulers.
Any moment now, a parade of patriotic and otherwise Americans will descend upon Tampa en masse, to practice the First Amendment of America.
By the busload Patriotic citizens burning for justice, itching for freedom, and chafing against the yolk of oppressiveness will arrive..
In South African there is a proverb that states, " If your buttocks burn, you know you have done wrong." However, During this National Security Event Sale all sides will have plenty of skin in the game.
“The Federal Restricted Buildings and Grounds Improvement Act of 2011.” aka H.R. 347 (signed bt Obama, not Putin) makes it a federal crime to disturb events of national significance—such as a political convention, punishable by ten years. This law has nothing to do with hedge trimming and everything to do with criminalizing non-violent political speech.. It is a hysterical overaction to free speech activities. It makes what is at most disorderly conduct a federal case It is the type of vindictive prosecutory zeal that has put activists like Tim Christopher and Pussy Riot in prison.
