Steubenville Rape Trial Testimony Transcribed Pt. 2: Immunity Deals and the Boys Who Witnessed the Rape

The following is court testimony from the rape trial of Trent Mays and Ma'lik Richmond which took place at the Jefferson County Juvenile Justice Center in Steubenville, Ohio between March 13th and March 18th 2013. These are transcripts of the trial using my notes that I took while in the Media room observing and reporting on the trial. I am only transcribing relevant testimony, and will spare you the long drawn out boring testimony of experts, and in my opinion insignificant witness who were called. I did not transcribe the entire trial, as I did step outside several times to do live updates, but being that the actual court transcript costs $6,500.....this is probably the closest thing the public will get to a court transcript of sorts. I apologize for not doing this sooner, but I had no time to do so until right now.

Steubenville: When will it all be over?
This isn't my usual reporting, but an OP-ED piece
When Ohio Attorney General Mike Dewine announced a grand jury would be convened to explore possible other crimes that may have been committed during the Jane Doe rape case investigation, and that they would be investigating other individuals who may have committed those crimes, no one believed it would take this long.
Brief Discussion with Anonymous and Ohio Valley Residents on Steubenville Case
A brief interview and discussion I did earlier after the rally outside of the Jefferson County Courthouse while the grand jury was being selected with 2 members of anonymous ( @anonymoussph3re and K) and 2 citizens from the area who attended the rallies.
Special thanks to Plain Jane's restaurant/bar for letting us come in after closing for food, drinks and providing us a place to do the interviews and hang out for awhile.
Steubenville grand jury selection to begin on Monday
Photo: CBS and AP Media Pool
On Monday morning, Ohio Attorney General Mike Dewine, will begin selecting a grand jury pool of 16-23 Eligible registered voters from Jefferson County. Dewine will then convene the final Grand Jury on April 15th at the Jefferson County Courthouse to try and indict 16 people who did not cooperate, failed to report a rape, failed to report child abuse, tampering with evidence and possible other charges.
While it remains unclear which 16 people(both adults and Teens) indictments are being sought for, Dewine has made it clear that as grand jury cannot indict juveniles. A grand jury can only find probable cause on juveniles, in which his office will then have to file charges through the Jefferson County Juvenile court systems. Adults may either be arrested, or subpoenaed to appear for a hearing if the grandy jury indicts adults.
The Grand Jury will be overseen by Patricia Cosgrove, a visiting retired judge from the Summit County Court of Common Pleas in Akron, Ohio.
Anonymous will hold a rally outside of the Jefferson County Courthouse at 10 Am on April 15th during the grand jury proceedings.

Day 1: what it was like to be media during the Steubenville trial
It was a cold night as i pulled in and parked my rented UHAUL makeshift media van behind NBC and diagonally from the Fox News production trucks. I made makeshift tags identifying the van as Mobile Broadcast News, and set up my gear in the back.
I lay down on the cot, and pull my zero degree sleeping bag over my head after hours of trying to sleep.
Steubenville braces for a storm one day before the rape trials begin
As defense lawyers try to have the case dismissed against Trent Mays and Ma'lik Richmond due to a West Virginia judge refusing to order Jane Doe's friends to testify in a Steubenville Ohio case, The town of Steubenville held a press conference one day before the trials begin.
The last time Steubenville held a press conference was on January 5, 2013 to announce the launch of Steubenvillefacts.org, a unhackable website where the town would fight back against the "misinformation spread by anonymous and the media as it pertained to the Steubenville case. The website offered no facts in the case, and was promptly hacked by @nazigods and taken offline within minutes of the announcement. City Manager Cathy Davison swore the website was run by the city, but the website is actually owned and maintained by a mysetery company in Arizona.
The Fiscal Cliff & Our Reality
The Fiscal Cliff and Our Reality.
A presentation followed by general discussion.
First Unitarian Universalist Church. 5212 S. Claiborne Avenue. New Orleans.
Since Election 2012 the “fiscal cliff” has emerged as the dominant issue of public discourse in this country. The President and the Congress agree that something must be done to prevent the U.S. from going over the fiscal cliff. The talking heads of the corporate media maintain that the only way the U.S. Government can avoid going over the fiscal cliff is through “shared sacrifices” by rich and poor alike in the name of getting America’s fiscal house in order.
The fiscal cliff debate raises questions of profound importance to the 99 percent. What is the fiscal cliff? How does downsizing “entitlements” in the pursuit of lower public debt really affect the 99 percent? Is what’s presented as “shared sacrifice” really shared in any meaningful sense of the word?
Watch and contribute to public discussion of the fiscal cliff issue from a 99 percent perspective

Workers Defense Project Wins Fight Against Large Developer
Yesterday evening (5/24/12), over 150 workers and allies marched into City Hall to demand decent working conditions, fair wages, and career paths for Austin's downtown construction workers. Environmentalists, students, labor, congregations, and industry leaders came to support the march.
Austin City Council was scheduled to vote on selling the last large piece of undeveloped land in Downtown Austin to the largest private developer in the country, Trammell Crow. Workers Defense Project asked Trammell Crow to sign a Premier Community Builder agreement to ensure safe working conditions, a living wage, and career paths for low-wage and underemployed workers on the project.
